Christmas 2009!

I LOVE Christmas time!!! I love the music, the lights on the houses and the trees, getting Christmas cards and usually mailing them, watching Christmas movies, decorating the tree, going to Christmas candlelight service on Christmas Eve, celebrating with family, getting all the presents ready for the kids, setting them out just right for the next morning and watching as they open them up and be so excited!

This year we did not travel anywhere which is of course is much easier for us. The girls were once again sick so had we had plans, we could not of gone. We celebrated Christmas all weekend. First on Christmas Eve night Hunter,Parker, and I went to 5:30 Candlelight service. We sang traditional Christmas music and lit candles and sang Silent Night. Brings back such childhood memories. Loved it! When we got home the girls were already asleep and we all had Christmas dinner with just candles and tree lights. We had such a nice time talking with the boys about our favorite Christmas memories. Then we watched A Christmas Story and the boys helped me wrap the girl's presents. It was lovely!
On Christmas morning the boys opened their presents. They had asked for a PlayStation 3 and some games. So that is what they got. They were so excited and have been playing it ever since. The girls got a few toys and didn't get the hang of opening presents until the very last one! Their favorite toys were their Little People farm and their Tinkerbell cell phones. After morning presents we headed to Troy's brother's house and celebrated with our cousins and Mimi and Pop. The girls had an OK time running around but because they don't feel so well didn't last very long.

On Friday we celebrated with my mom, her husband and my sister's family. The kids enjoyed hanging out with more cousins. We ate lunch, opened presents, and went to see Alvin and the Chipmunks. It was Preston's(3 1/2 years old) first movie and he did fabulous. The key: LOTS and LOTS of popcorn. The kids had so much fun because they spent the night with us and on Sunday my dad and Debbie came to celebrate Christmas. We enjoyed a laid back afternoon of opening presents and football. We were sad for the weekend to end but already look forward to next year!
